Behavior
The Ursafelis is a solitary and elusive creature, combining the stealthy hunting prowess of a feline with the formidable strength and endurance of a bear. Despite its intimidating size, it possesses an uncanny grace, able to scale trees with remarkable agility and move through dense undergrowth silently. They are often observed in playful bouts of mock-fighting, a feline trait, but can become incredibly territorial and aggressive if threatened, especially when protecting their cubs.
These creatures prefer the dense cover of old-growth temperate forests and the rugged terrain of mountain slopes, where they can find ample prey and suitable den sites in caves or hollowed-out logs. They are primarily nocturnal or crepuscular hunters, relying on their keen senses of smell and hearing to track down prey ranging from deer and wild boar to smaller rodents and birds. During warmer months, they supplement their diet with seasonal fruits, nuts, and a particular fondness for honey, often raiding beehives with their sharp claws.
