Behavior
Bovulfs are highly social creatures, living in mixed herds often numbering between 10-30 individuals, led by a matriarch. While generally calm and grazing much like cattle, they exhibit moments of predatory instinct, especially when defending their young or cornering small prey. They communicate through a complex series of low moans, growls, and howls, and use scent marking to delineate their territories.
These majestic hybrids are active primarily during dusk and dawn, utilizing the fading light for both grazing and opportunistic hunting. They are incredibly agile for their their size, capable of surprising bursts of speed and remarkable jumps, allowing them to navigate varied terrain from open plains to light woodland. They often create wallows in muddy areas, not just for cooling but also for scent dispersal and as a social ritual.
