Gorillhogs are surprisingly shy and reclusive creatures, preferring solitude or small family units of up to three individuals. Despite their immense strength, they are generally peaceful, using their powerful limbs primarily for navigating dense forest undergrowth and foraging. When threatened, a Gorillhog will first try to intimidate with chest-beating displays. If that fails, it curls into a protective, quill-covered ball, though its size prevents a perfect sphere, leaving vital areas less protected.
They are primarily diurnal, spending their days foraging for food and constructing temporary ground nests from vegetation. Their thick, prickly fur provides excellent camouflage and protection in the dense, often thorny, environments they inhabit. They are known to meticulously groom their quills with specially adapted claws, ensuring they remain sharp and free of debris.
