Chitterhyenas are highly social creatures, living in boisterous clans of up to a dozen individuals. While primarily terrestrial, their strong, clawed limbs and prehensile feet allow them to scale trees with surprising agility, often seeking refuge or higher vantage points.
These nocturnal and crepuscular omnivores spend their days resting in burrows or rock crevices, emerging at dusk to forage.
