The Moosepotamus is a surprisingly agile creature despite its immense bulk, often observed grazing peacefully in meadows bordering large waterways. They are mostly solitary, except during mating season or when a cow is raising a calf. Unlike their hippo ancestors, they are less overtly aggressive on land, preferring to retreat to water when threatened, but can be formidably defensive when cornered. Their massive, unique antlers are used primarily for display and sparring with rivals, though they can also clear paths through dense undergrowth.
These majestic hybrids spend their days foraging for aquatic plants and riverside grasses, often submerging themselves for extended periods to escape insects or heat, similar to hippos. At night, they venture further into the forest, browsing on tree bark, leaves, and twigs, much like a moose. Their broad, slightly webbed hooves, though surprisingly nimble for their size, aid in navigating muddy riverbeds and soft forest floor with equal ease.
