The Grizzlequack is a surprisingly agile and adaptable creature, exhibiting a unique blend of ursine power and anserine aquatic prowess. They are generally solitary, though pairs may be seen during breeding season. Despite their imposing size, they are remarkably cautious, preferring to observe from a distance before engaging. They communicate with a deep, resonating honk that can carry for miles, often accompanied by a low growl when agitated.
Primarily active during dawn and dusk, Grizzlequacks spend their days foraging along riverbanks and marshy areas, digging for roots, tubers, and grubs with their powerful bills. They are excellent swimmers, using their webbed paws to navigate strong currents, where they can dive to catch fish or aquatic plants. They establish dens in secure, dry areas within forests, often near water, which they mark by rubbing against trees and leaving scent trails.
