Seabras are highly social creatures, forming pods of 10-20 individuals that display complex communication through a series of braying growls and whinnying barks. On land, they move with an surprisingly agile, loping gait, often 'galloping' across sandy flats or through shallow waters, using their powerful, modified flippers for propulsion. In the water, they transform into graceful swimmers, their striped coats creating a mesmerizing optical illusion, making them difficult for predators to track.
These unique hybrids spend their days foraging in the intertidal zones, either grazing on marine vegetation or 'herding' small fish into shallows for easier capture. They seek out protected coastal caves or dense mangrove thickets for resting and raising their young, known as 'foals'. Seabras are known for their playful nature, often seen porpoising through waves or engaging in mock-chases on land, demonstrating their remarkable adaptability to both their aquatic and terrestrial environments.
