Raccubats are primarily nocturnal, highly intelligent, and incredibly resourceful creatures. They exhibit the inquisitive, dexterous nature of raccoons, constantly exploring their environment with their sensitive paws and keen sense of smell. Unlike most bats, Raccubats are not typically colonial, preferring to live in small family groups of 3-5 individuals. They are excellent problem-solvers, capable of unlatching simple locks and navigating complex urban environments with ease. Their social interactions involve a series of chirps, chitters, and low growls, accompanied by complex wing and body posturing.
These elusive creatures make their dens in abandoned buildings, hollow trees, and the entrances of caves, often returning to the same roosting spots night after night. Their unique combination of bat wings and raccoon agility allows them to forage both on the ground and from the air, snatching ripe fruits from high branches or swooping down to catch ground-dwelling insects. They are particularly drawn to areas where human civilization meets wilderness, often seen rummaging through bins or pilfering from campsites under the cloak of darkness.
