Sharkbat

The Sharkbat is an apex predator of both air and sea. It utilizes a sophisticated form of echolocation, far more advanced than its terrestrial bat ancestors, allowing it to navigate the darkest depths of the ocean and pinpoint prey from the sky. Hunting primarily at night, it will swoop down from coastal cliffs or breach the water's surface with incredible speed to snatch unsuspecting fish or seabirds. Its sleek, hydrodynamic body allows for rapid pursuit underwater, while its powerful, leathery wings enable silent aerial attacks.

These solitary creatures are highly territorial, especially around their deep-sea cave roosts or submerged volcanic vents. During mating season, they perform elaborate aerial displays over remote ocean expanses before returning to their hidden lairs to rear a single pup. While generally reclusive, they are known to exhibit bursts of migratory behavior, following schools of large prey across vast oceanic distances, only to disappear into the depths once their hunt is complete.
